History
„MONNARI TRADE” (company being subject to arrangement bankruptcy) exists since 2000 but history of MONNARI label dates back to 1998 when a it was run in a form of partnership company.
„MONNARI TRADE” S.A. since 2000 was continuing activities of MONNARI partnership and on 1st January, 2001 it took over all its activities. The company focused on creating their own ‘in-house’ collections destined for women 30 +.
In relatively short time “MONNARI TRADE” S. A. created one of the most recognized Polish clothing trade marks which is associated with top quality , chic and elegance. The company was presented with numerous awards, for instance, it received Marka Wysokiej Reputacji, (High Quality Brand) title, Euro Lider (Euro Leader) certificate, Lider Rynku 2007 (Brand Leader) award and it placed itself amongst the most effective Polish companies by receiving Top 100 distinction.
The Company received recognition of customers; it received for the second time- Złoty Laur Klienta (Golden Customer Laurel) and for the sixth time Doskonałość Mody (Excellence in Fashion).
2006 was a breakthrough for the Company because six years since the establishment had its debut on Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In July 2006 “MONNARI TRADE” S.A. purchased PABIA label. First Pabia shop, which was based on new conception with interesting idea of collection, was opened in August 2007 and at the end of 2007 there were 25 PABIA boutiques Along with organic growth the Company began foreign expansion of its chain of retail stores. „MONNARI TRADE” S.A. has 2 stores in Berlin and 2 stores in Kaliningrad (year 2008).
Activity
The main objective of „MONNARI TRADE” S.A. is creating wide and diverse offer of fashionable women apparel made of top quality comfortable fabrics sold in chain of Company’s shops. Company’s business model focuses on general brand management and in particular:
designing collections,
brands’ management,
production outsourcing and control,
marketing and advertising activities related to brands’ promotion,
selling of apparel and accessories under own brands in chain of Company’s shops.
„MONNARI TRADE” S.A. is a highly specialized entity which employees a group of experienced designers. All of the designs are crafted in vogue with the latest styles of the international fashion. Since 2001 production lines have been outsourced to external subcontractors. Clothes are produced in accordance with the Company’s designs and specifications with the use of top-quality textiles. Thanks to outsourcing the Company is able to limit its fixed manufacturing costs– the Company does not have its own production house. In case of MONNARI brand , designers deliver about 1000 designs for a collection. All designs are created in-hose. The production is outsourced to external companies in Poland, China and in other countries.
The Company focuses on creating and managing brands and on promotion of its products.
The number of shops shows huge success achieved by the Company in managing brands. At the end of 2008 the Company had 229 own stores, including 169 MONNARI and 56 PABIA.
May 2009. The Management Board of “MONNARI TRADE” S.A. has informed about the declaration of bankruptcy. Declaration was submitted to District Court in Łódź.
The Management Board made such decision in connection with bad situation of the company in times of economic crisis. The Management Board decided also to discontinue creation of PABIA collection temporary and close down a chain of shops operating under this brand.
The above decision was a part of a restructuring plan which assumes limitation of Company’s activity.
As a result of following changes, the number of existing Monnari shops now is 101 (May 2010).
